The First Floral Extravaganza
Was A Success!!!

Get ready for number two!

Saturday, November 6, 2010
From 10am to 4pm

Our first floral extravaganza was an opportunity for customers to meet John our new floral mananger and learn more about the efforts to make our floral department the best in the business. This event was a grand reopening as much as an extravaganza with giveaways, drawings, design stations and even a bride to highlight our success with wedding flowers. Roses were given to customers on the way in ( sorry guys... just the ladies) and folks that stopped by the floral department took home even more.

This year John has a year of work on the department under his belt. He and Rachael have transformed our floral department into a world class flower shop just inside our front doors. Come see what we can do for weddings and special occasions, holidays, table center pieces or everyday flower needs. John, Rachael and the team can do it all!

We're your favorite source for natural and organic foods, seafood, sushi, produce, prepared foods, quick lunches, catering and so much more. We want you to think of us first for flowers for every occasion. With the help of our world class designers John and Rachael, and our new commitment to make this department the best in the business, we're sure you'll be happy you stopped by.

Tuesday, November 9 is Chef Nancy Starziano's Cafe Class. The subject will be Creating a Holiday Cheese Platter. Those familiar with our artisan cheese department know that we have hundreds of cheeses from all over the world, including some from right here in Rhode Island. What many people may need a little help with is what cheeses might work well together to make a platter, also known as a cheese board, for holiday entertaining. What garnishes and accessory ingredients to use, and what wines, beers or ales to serve with the cheese is always a consideration as well. This class, with handouts and planty of samples, will address some of these issues in an informative and delicious format. Nancy's extensive experience from a chef on a canal barge in France to executive chef and then General Manager of Eastside Marketplace

More amd more class participants have internet coupons for our cafe classes. Sign up for Email notifications or check our online events calendars regularly for the fall schedule. Chef Andy Juarez, Chef Deb Miller, Chef Nancy Starziano and floral designer John Drohan will be returning favorites. Class participants get great information to take home and there's plenty of great artisan cheeses to taste. Please call ahead and make reservations... The number of seats available is limited and classes are becoming quite popular.

Tuesday, June 8 was the grand finale of our spring Cafe Classes but we're having more. Chef Deb Miller taught a capacity crowd how to make four different easy and satisfying summer salads. Deb started with an easy Carrot Slaw with Cashews and followed with a light but hearty Chipotle Potato Salad. After everyone had a taste of both, Deb got a little more serious with her unique Curried Cantaloupe with Chicken Salad that was served on a bed of mixed greens and finished up with Thai Cole Slaw, an interesting mix of crunchy vegetables and a spicy dressing.

Thursday, September 30 was the start of out 2010 fall Cafe Classes and Chef Deb kicked off the festivities with a sold out Autumn Soups & Stews class. Participants sampled Thai Style Squash Soup, Bulgur & Red Lentil Soup and Kentucky Burgoo and everyone left full and happy.

More than half of the participants had internet coupons for the class. Sign up for Email notifications or check our online events calendars regularly for the fall schedule.
